He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezra McDowell and Myrtle Easley McDowell; his former wife Betty Sue McDowell; his son Kent McDowell; and his sister Glendale Messamore.
He is survived by: his wife Frankie of Providence, KY; his children, Theresa McDowell Phillips (Rickie) and Keith McDowell (Genie) of Providence, KY; and his extended family, Tammi Head (Tony), Rocky East (Cathy), Ronnie East (Melanie) and Roger East. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Lewis Funeral Home (206 Cedar St, Providence, KY 42450). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Shady Grove Cemetery (76 Providence Rd, Marion, KY 42064).
Memorial contributions can be made to the Shady Grove Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
