Steven left this world on April 26, 2026 at the age of 72, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Howard Mathias and Marabelle Ruth Randall Mathias; his grandparents, Elmer W. Mathias, Essie Manly Mathias, William Graham Randall and Ruth Ann Elliott Randall; and his siblings, Mary Sue Logan, James Harold Mathias and William Howard Mathias.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Bryson Mathias; his children, Ricky G. Mathias of Greenville, KY, Jason W. Lovejoy of Providence, Jacob M. Mathias of Slaughters, KY, Jaymi Choate (Lonnie) of Safety Harbor, FL, Lisa N. Celik (Admir) of Hanson, KY and Amanda M. Mathias (Jackie) of Lexington, KY; his brother David Charles Mathias; and his grandchildren, Jessica, Rikki, Zackary, Easton, Cheyenne, Luka, Adriana and Abbigail. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 30th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home – Providence Chapel (301 N Broadway St, Providence, KY 42450). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, April 30th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church (730 US-41 ALT, Providence, KY 42450).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dalton Cemetery.
