She was predeceased by: her parents, Castle Whitaker and Japlene Brown Whitaker; her husband Joel Gregory Howard; and her siblings, Wade Whitaker, Craig Whitaker and Rita Kay Hughes.

She is survived by: her niece Katina (Robert Davidowicz) of Jackson; and her nephew Waylon (Holly Whitaker) of Stockbridge. She is also survived by cousins, family and friends.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Whitaker Family Cemetery.
