He is survived by : his wife Karen Hammers Smith of Quality, KY; his children, Melissa Brey (Willy) of Owensboro, KY and Tim Ashley (Sara) of Minot; his grandchildren, Addison Newton of Caneyville, KY, Will, Oaklynn Brey of Owensboro, KY, Josie and Hunter Ashley of Minot; his siblings, Donna Billig of Louisville, KY, Janice Seaman (Steve) of Louisville, KY, Terry Smith of Morgantown, KY, Karen Jarboe (Rick) of New Albany and Brenda Embry of Payneville, KY; his father-in-law Steve Hammers of Huntsville, KY; and his nephews, Cash, Case, Charli and Cole.
