He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Dowdell Sr. and Gertrude Dowdell; and his wife Joann Dowdell. He is survived by: his brother Ed Dowdell Jr.; his daughter Tracy Hallmark; and his stepdaughters, Sue Ann Wilson, Della May Porter, Etta Ruth Ludwig and Sandy Marie Mullins. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
