He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Alvey and Cora Alvey; and his brothers, Herbert Alvey Jr. and Phillip Alvey. He is survived by: his children, Russell Alvey Jr., Lori Beth Alvey, Sara Elizabeth Wheatley and Nathan Foster; his close friend Karen Ann Fuertsch; his grandchildren, Sage Alvey, Mydnight Allerano, Samuel Alvey, Douglas Dowell Jr. and Devin Wheatley; his great grandchildren, Elias, Emerald and Kinsley; and his siblings, Trisha, Charles, Bradley and Linda. He is also survived by extended family & friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chism Family Funeral Home (769 Highland Ave, Vine Grove, KY 40175). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
