He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Thomas and Mona Howard Thomas; and his brother Jerry Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Nantz Thomas; his children, J. Douglas Thomas, Jr. (Madeline) and Letishia Land; his sisters, Joyce Lane and Terry Marshall (Jim); and his grandchildren, Nikki Thomas (Adam), Stephanie Thomas (Wayne), Beverly Land (Nathaniel), Carolyn McMaine (Jarrod), Angelica Goens (Aaron) and J. Douglas Thomas III. He is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home (328 W Main St, Richmond, KY 40475). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
