With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan Gray (Richmond, Kentucky), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 27, 2026 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Joan may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Joan touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her spouse Broaddus Gray; her parents, James J. Lackey and Ether B. Masters Lackey; and her sisters, Henrietta Moberly, Roberta Prewitt and Brenda Fowler.
She is survived by: her daughter Denise Newland (Jack); and her granddaughter Kayla Newland.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 5th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home (1110 Barnes Mill Rd, Richmond, KY 40475). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
