We announce the death of Lena Benge Pennington (Richmond, Kentucky), who passed away on July 29, 2026, at the age of 104. Lena will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Rufus Roberts Pennington; her parents, John Franklin and Grace Sparks Benge; her daughter Mona Fay Pennington; and her siblings, Geneva Benge Ray, Inez Benge Maupin and Harold Benge.
She is survived by: her sons, Monty R. Pennington (Jewdy) and George M. Pennington (Nancy); her grandchildren, Ashley Pennington Baker (Justin), John Tyler Pennington (Easter), Seth Pennington and Brandon Saurel (Leah); and her great grandchildren, Myles Morris, Easton Morris, Asher Baker, Addison Baker, Lauren Baker, Kendall Baker, Maddox Saurel, Wyatt Collins and Izzy Collins. She is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
