He was predeceased by: his parents, Arch Abshear and Elsie Jane Abshear; and his siblings, Helen Rogers, Herman Abshear, William Abshear, Winford Abshear, Paul Abshear, Emma Ray and James Abshear.
He is survived by: his wife Judy King Abshear; his children, Michael Abshear (Donna Comley) of Richmond and Janey Abshear Uhl (Alan) of Middlesboro; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Abshear, Joshua Abshear, Chase Uhl (Makayla) and Evan Uhl; his great grandchild Atlas Uhl; and his brother Dallas Abshear. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
