He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnie Slone and Glacia Anderson Morrow; his son Nelson Ray Slone; and his siblings, Linda Collins Stepp, Dilent Moore, Essie Norman, Dessie Barnes and Phillip Shannon Slone.
He is survived by: his daughters, Deliliah Thomas of Richmond, Angie Stewart of South Carolina and Sherry Kunkel of Indiana; his grandchildren, Shane Thomas of Berea, Cameron Thomas of Richmond, Levi Allen of Richmond and Kash Smith of Berea, Kentucky; and his siblings, Kathy Bryant of Alabama, Sue Dick of Richmond, Judy Poynter (Harvey) of Richmond, Johnnie Slone of Lincoln County and Patricia Pitts of Lexington, Kentucky. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Newnam Funeral Home Chapel (108 Center St, Beattyville, KY 41311). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
