We announce the death of Clyde Hershel Castle of River, Kentucky, who passed away on September 13, 2026, at the age of 79. Clyde will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Castle and Edith Beverly Castle; and his siblings, Berman Lee Kiser, Glenda Castle, Diane Maynard, Jimmy Ross Castle, John Henry Castle, Donnie Joe Castle and Roger Dale Castle.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Sue Mollett Castle; and his children, Jerold Alan Castle of Inez, Walter Michael Castle of Inez, Kyle Daniel Preece of Louisa, Carolyn Ventta Maynard of Louisa and April Dawn Dutton-Kerns of Capon Bridge. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home (807 S Mayo Trail, Paintsville, KY 41240). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
