She was predeceased by : her father William Winstead; her husband Oscar Mays; her son John Mays; her grandson Oscar Samuel Mays; and her great grandchild Raeanna Mays.

She is survived by : her children, Brenda Caton (Bill), Owen Mays (Edythe), Darrell Mays and Roy Mays; her sister Catherine Calhoun; and her daughter-in-law Diana Mays Golday (David). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
