It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Gene McFarland of Russell Springs, Kentucky, who passed away on May 10, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie H. McFarland and Helen Roy McFarland; his brother Chuck McFarland; and his great grandchild Karrie Ann Scruggs. He is survived by: his wife Janie Hammond McFarland of Russell Springs; his daughters, Keri Kerns (Matt) of Russell Springs and Krista McFarland of Russell Springs; his stepchildren, Jason Shanks (Laura) of Russell Springs and Ann Tucker (Chris) of Russell Springs; his grandchildren, Kyle, Kennedy, Kendall, Caleigh, Kelsey and Kylar; his stepgrandchildren, Hannah, Elizabeth, Joshua and Andrew; and his siblings, Kenny McFarland (Linda) of Russell Springs, Ricky McFarland of Russell Springs and Janice Popplewell of Russell Springs. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and church family members.
In lieu of flowers, it was Gary's wish that donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503.
