He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben James and Emma James (Smith); his former wife Marjorie James (Collins); his children, Richard Lee James and Katherine Ann Carroll (James); his grandchildren, Heather Lee James and Ryan Gerhard; his stepsons, Timothy Wayne Hosack and Phillip Ray Hosack; and his grandparents, John Perry, Lydia James (Crowe), Ernest and Maggie Smith (Goff).
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Kay James (LeMaster) of Russell Springs; his daughter Margaret Sue Huseman of Florence; his stepson William Curtis LeMaster (Lynn) of Madisonville; his daughter-in-law Mona Hosack of Russell Springs; his son James Reed (Laurie) of Florida; his brother Ernest Smythe James (Judy) of Russell Springs; his grandchildren, Emily Smith, Lindsey Huseman, Morgan Satterwhite (Jud), Taylor Huseman (Tommy), Randy James (Adrienne), Skylar James and Annika James; his great grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Mackenzie Smith, Cyress Gerhard, Tearrence Gerhard and Clarity Gerhard; his great great grandchildren, Georgina Satterwhite, Waylon Kuhlman, Jaxson Gerhard and Theodore Gerhard; his stepgrandchildren, Jackie, Travis and Amanda; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Nathan and Miranda; his niece Stacey Overly (James); his nephew Brian James; his great-niece Sarah Overly; and his great-nephews, Justin James and Seth Overly. He is also survived by several cousins & friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Saturday, June 21st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bernard Funeral Home (367 Main St, Russell Springs, KY 42642). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM and at 1:00 PM. A burial will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
