He is survived by : his wife Margaret Oakes of Russell Springs, KY; his children, Karen May (Greg) of Russell Springs, KY. and Bobby Oakes (Sherry) of Russell Springs, KY.; his siblings, Gila Gaskins (Dean) of Louisville, KY, Reva Richardson (Darrell) of Louisville, KY. and Dewell Oakes (Jodie) of Columbia, KY.; his grandchildren, Kelby Barnett (Savanah), Zac Oakes (Brenna Posey), Christian Helm and Brooke Kerney (Kyle); and his great grandchildren, Alex, Archer Oakes, Kai, Kalli Barnett and Saylor Kerney.
