Howard Gorrell Obituary
We announce the death of Howard Gorrell (Russellville, Kentucky), who passed away on September 1, 2026, at the age of 90. Howard will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Silas Gorrell and Kathleen Dew Gorrell; his daughter Michelle Gorrell Rust; and his siblings, Elaine Gorrell Traverse, Billy Joe Gorrell, Duane Gorrell, Terry Gorrell, Timmy Gorrell and Stanley Gorrell.
He is survived by: his wife Charlene Coles Gorrell; his sons, Mickey Gorrell (Peggy), Mark Gorrell and Marty Gorrell (Shannon) of Auburn, Kentucky; his stepdaughter Edwina Strickler (Stanley) of Rockfield, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Lee Gorrell, Briley Gorrell, Landon Gorrell, Addi Gorrell, Ashlee Rust, Kara Rust and Garrett Strickler (Libby); his pet Claymour; and his caregivers, Amy Henderson and Jessica Kennedy.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home (1600 Nashville St, Russellville, KY 42276). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Howard's memory be made to Gideons International Elkton Camp or Pleasant Hill Church of Claymour Building Fund.
