He is survived by: his children, Phillip Prater (Lee) of Georgetown and Shana Prater (Lance Dunn) of Sadieville; his grandchildren, Sophia Prater, Aubrey Prater and Harper Prater Dunn; and his stepbrother Wilmer Rudd of Lexington.

Memorial contributions are recommended to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
