He was predeceased by : his former life partner June Jennings Owen; his parents, Coy Owen Sr. and Fada Cook "Smith" Owen; his siblings, Jimmy D. Owen, Harold W Owen, Thomas B. Owen and Jeanetta Owen Hardin; and his stepson John "Butch" Butler.
He is survived by : his wife Dorothy Kitchens Butler Owen; his children, David A Owen of Burna, Coy H Owen (Sandy) of Burna and Candace L Champion (Mark) of Burna; his stepdaughter Jo Ellen Stinnett of Eddyville; his grandchildren, Derek Champion (Chasta) of Salem, Andrew Champion of Paducah, Abby Owen of Burna and Rachel Owen Birman (Chip) of Burna; his stepgrandson Robby Maxwell (Leigh Ann) of Princeton; and his great grandchildren, Jett Champion, Knox Champion, Emma Owen, Brick Owen, Katelyn Birman, Abigail Birman, Drew Birman and Camery Maxwell.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pinckneyville Baptist Church.
