He was predeceased by : his parents, Homer Shepherd and Beatrice Allen Shepherd; and his siblings, Homer Jr. Shepherd, Virgil Shepherd, Paul Shepherd, Ricky Shepherd, Faye Fitzpatrick and Carol Shepherd.
He is survived by : his wife Gwen Rowe Shepherd; his children, Brian Shepherd (Kellie) of Salyersville and Billie Salyer (Troy) of Salyersville; his siblings, R. B. Shepherd (Sue) of Springport, Robert Shepherd of David, Johnny Shepherd (Teresa) of Hippo, Darcus Shepherd of Gunlock, Debbie Thompson of Prestonsburg and Elisha Hylton (Bobby Joe) of Gunlock; his grandchildren, Dalton Salyer (Haley) and Bryleigh Michelle Shepherd; and his great grandchild Bradlee Scott Salyer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
