He was predeceased by: his parents, Granville "G. V." Joseph and Ethel Mullins Joseph; his daughter Jessica Ann Joseph; and his siblings, Kendall Joseph, Charles Joseph, Mable Ledford, Emma Jean Adams, Wilma Dotson and Genevieve Joseph.

He is survived by: his wife Connie Brockley Joseph; his children, Timothy Neal Joseph (Sheila Marie) and Kimberly Lynn Howard (Anthony Gil); his siblings, Granville Jr. Joseph, Phillip Joseph, Faye Stacy, Peggy Howard, Patricia Blevins and Brenda Minix; his grandchildren, Farley Neal Joseph (Kimberly), Anthony Blake Howard (Lindsey) and Noah Braxton Howard; and his great grandchildren, Riverlynd Marie Joseph, Heidi Klaire Joseph, Zeb Shepherd Joseph and Lainey Blayke Howard.
