Veldon leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Veldon’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Veldon will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Kash McCarty and Emma Day Reed McCarty; his wife Janice Johnson McCarty; and his siblings, Millow D. McCarty, Jason McCarty, Lee Gene McCarty, Della Sue Bayes and Redia V. Joseph.
He is survived by: his son John (Karena McCarty) of Salyersville; his grandson Peyton McCarty of Salyersville; and his brother Roger McCarty of Salyersville, Kentucky..
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel (900 Parkway Dr, Salyersville, KY 41465).
