It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of David Scott New (Science Hill, Kentucky), who passed away on October 19, 2025, at the age of 54, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Janice James New and Boyce Melvin Tucker; his brother Edward Kent James; his grandparents, Fred, Hazel James (Adams), Cordus and Zelma Tucker (Keith); and his father-in-law Alex Adkins.
He is survived by: his wife Misty Dawn New (Adkins); his children, Mitchell Scott New (Sarah) of Science Hill and Chelsea Renea New of Somerset; his stepchildren, Lakyn Taylor Collins (Victoria "Tori" Johnson) of Somerset and Brandon Douglas Collins (Katarina) of Martin, Kentucky; his brother Mark C. New (Robin) of Burkesville, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Isaiah, Tobias, Parker, Caleb, Colton, Alayah, Kyra and Alex; his aunts, Margaret Jasper James of Shady Grove, Judy James Vaught of Eubank and Lana James Cassada of Somerset; and his mother-in-law Esther Greer Barrows (Billy) of Paintsville. He is also survived by cousins and many, many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 9:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM and at 2:00 PM. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Cemetery (7030 KY-1247, Science Hill, KY 42553).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Mt. Zion Cemetery in his memory.
