Rickey West Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rickey West (Science Hill, Kentucky), who passed away on December 26, 2025 at the age of 62. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard L. West and Mildred West (Wesley); his son David Allen West; his brother Howard Lewis West (Verna Mae "Shorty"); his nieces, Christy M. Crockett and Dani West; his brother-in-law Albert Roy; his grandparents, Elvin, Clara Wesley (Godby), Cyrus and Sylvia West (White); and his father-in-law Narval Leo James.

He is survived by: his wife Hazel Donette West (James); his daughters, Whitney Lynn Tackett (Wes) of Lexington and Harper Lynnae West of Eubank; his grandchildren, Elijah Wesley Tackett and Adalynn Christine Tackett; his sisters, Connie Mae Roy of Somerset and Clara Marie Randolph (Lester) of Science Hill; his mother-in-law Margaret James (Jasper) of Shady Grove; and his siblings-in-law, Anthony Dwayne James of Shady Grove and Dana Marie Hill (Darren) of Somerset.

In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Mt. Zion Cemetery in his memory.
