It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virgie Earnestine McIntosh of Science Hill, Kentucky, who passed away on March 21, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest A. Huey and Virgie Ruby Rowzee Huey; her husband James P. Ponder; her former husband Rudolph McIntosh; her sons, James Ponder, Jr. and Kenneth Ponder; her grandchildren, Carrie A. Ponder and David A. Sutton; and her sister Alma Jean McGee.
She is survived by: her children, Sandra McKinny (Chuck), Brenda Thompson (Stan), Deborah Mellencamp and John Ponder (Susie); and her sister Virginia Frisby. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
