He was predeceased by: his father Arthur Reed Harston; and his sister Carolyn Faye Scott (Lowell). He is survived by: his wife Elsie Harston of Scottsville, KY; his children, Michael Reed Harston of Lawton, OK, Steven Paul Harston of Scottsville, KY, Wayne Ellison Akers of Scottsville, KY, Velmer Lee Akers (Connie) of Jacksonville, FL and Glenda Jean Fields of Scottsville, KY; his sister Carol Rhea Weaver (James "Boss") of Scottsville, KY; and his grandchildren, Michael "Peanut" Wilson (Brooke), Holly Smith (Nathan), Danny Wilson (Kristy), Lacey Akers, Ashley Akers, Cody Akers, Seth Carpenter, Austin Carpenter and Cameron Carpenter. He is also survived by Several great grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Shriner's Burn Center. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
