With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Shirley Ranes of Sebree, Kentucky, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Shirley left this world on October 24, 2025 at the age of 95, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Ranes and Lora Ranes; his wife Carolyn Orton Ranes; his grandson Jeremy Tyler Ranes; and his siblings, Dorris Ranes, Roberta Winstead, Betty Knight and Delores Johnson.

He is survived by: his children, Dennis Ranes (Kathi) of Henderson, KY and Teresa Townsend (Mack) of Dixon, KY.; his grandchildren, Shaun Townsend (Rachel), Chris Ranes (Stephani), Eric Ranes (Jamie) and Rebecca Lewis (Jeremy); his granddaughter-in-law Jessica Ranes Thomas (Joe); and his great grandchildren, Sydney Turley (Andrew), Hadley, Grey Ranes, Ella, Harper Ranes, Mason, Jase Ranes, Will Thomas, Makayla, Tucker, Ali Townsend, Camden and Conleigh Lewis.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Tomblinson Funeral Home (57 KY-370, Sebree, KY 42455). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice.
