He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph John Smorgala and Marian Elisabeth Oles Armitage; and his brother Larry Joseph Smorgala. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Cooley Smorgala of Shelbyville; his children, Nicole Marie Anderson (Drew) of Shelbyville and Kevin John Smorgala (Morgan Elizabeth) of Charlotte, NC; his sister Deborah Jane Morelli of Marathon, FL; and his grandchildren, Jaylin Anderson, Brynlee Anderson, Jonah Anderson, Marian Smorgala and Marlowe Smorgala.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Grove Hill Cemetery (458 Mt Eden Rd, Shelbyville, KY 40065).
