We bid farewell to Sue McCarty of Shelbyville, Kentucky, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 16, 2025 at the age of 79. Sue touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jim Messina and Marge Messina; her husband Dave McCarty; her brother Jim Messina; and her grandson Andrew Straub.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Overstreet (Kevin), Terry Olson (Roger), Gary McCarty (Kay) and Sheri Bruce (Chris); her grandchildren, Lindsey Overstreet (Rachel DeVore), Johnny Watzl, David Straub (Jennifer), Danny Watzl, Christina Brunty (Cameron) and Carrie McCarty; and her pet Zoie. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Annunciation Catholic Church (105 Main St, Shelbyville, KY 40065). A Mass will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Church of the Annunciation (105 Main St, Shelbyville, KY 40065). A burial will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Resthaven Memorial Park (4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218).
