He is survived by: his children, Charles Carpenter, Karen Chance (James) and Judith Carpenter (late Patricia Quarnstrom); his grandchildren, Cathy L. Carpenter (Richard), Alyssa Kuiper (Matt), Amanda Weegens (Michael) and Clayton Williams (Rebecca); his niece Janet Sodell (Loren); and his nephew Eric Carpenter (Michelle).
