He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl David Lane and Rosina Lane (Bowyer); his children, James Lane II, Janet Lane and David Lane; and his siblings, Jerry Lane, Mary Lou Dugger and Sharon Barton.
He is survived by: his wife Josephine "Josie" Lane; his daughter Robin Lane (Kim); his granddaughter Sarah Lane; and his brother Bill Lane. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and other dear family and friends.
