We announce the death of Joseph A Riggs (Shepherdsville, Kentucky), who passed away on October 13, 2026, at the age of 89. Joseph will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Thurman and Mary Mildred Riggs; his wife Mary Riggs; and his siblings, Kathleen Beckmann, Mary Grace Ballard and Leon Riggs.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph Riggs, Jr., Robert Riggs (Julie) and Stacy Riggs; his grandchildren, Joseph Riggs III, Chad Riggs (Sarah) and Stephanie Brady (Brandon); his great grandchildren, Raylee Riggs, Olivia Riggs, Jett Riggs, Ava Brady, Axel Brady, Everly and Boone Brady; and his siblings, Jerry Riggs, Martha Shook, Stanley Riggs and Herman Riggs. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home-Shepherdsville (4895 N Preston Hwy, Shepherdsville, KY 40165). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Highland Memory Gardens (279 Landis Ln, Mt Washington, KY 40047).
