He was predeceased by: his parents, Wash Smith and Corine Smith (Johnson); his grandmother Smith Hensley (Beulah Smith Burkhart); his brother Homer Smith; and his son Jackie Wayne Smith Jr..
He is survived by: his daughter Kristy Jo Schuyler (Fred) of Michigan; his grandchildren, Dillon Knezevich of South Carolina and Mackenzie Garrison-Lechner (Turner) of North Carolina; and his siblings, Fred Smith (Charlene), Frankie Courson (Tom) of Kentucky, Alice Gibbons (Dewey) of Kentucky and Florence Mueller (Jim) of Kentucky.
