It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert Alan Kelley of Smithland, Kentucky, who passed away on July 20, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrtle Bunch and Ebb Kelley; his wife Jo Rudd Kelley; his granddaughter Tanya Jo Smith; and his brothers, Hillard Kelley, Billy Kelley and Terry Kelley.
He is survived by: his children, Bobbie Smith (Allen) and David Kelley (Loretta) of Smithland; his grandchildren, Bridget Houston (Brent) of Henderson, Julie Gavin of Henderson, Hannah Thacker (Corey) of Dallas and Jason Bryant of Ellington, Missouri; his sister Sue Rudd of Smithland; and his caregiver Leonard Leslie. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services (212 E Main St, Salem, KY 42078). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
