He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bill" Smith and Lois Hasseler Smith; and his brother Krist Smith. He is survived by: his wife Paula Welch Smith; his daughter Ashley Shirley (Chris); his grandson Blane Shirley; and his sisters, Pam Womack, Kim Merrit, Laurie Cooper (Greg) and Kathy Phelps (Ernie). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hardy & Son Funeral Home - Smiths Grove (226 Broadway St, Smiths Grove, KY 42171). A graveside service was held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hays Cemetery.
