With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Shortnacy in Somerset, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 13, 2025 at the age of 87. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Nelson and Edna Calhoun Nelson; the father of her children Paul Bryant; her son Douglass Dudley Bryant; and her siblings, Ralph Nelson and Shirley Keller.
She is survived by: her son Don Ray Bryant; her grandchildren, Austin David Bryant, Blake Allen Bryant, Keenan Bryant, Mark Fitzgerald Bryant and Cullen C. Bryant; her siblings, Robert W. Nelson, Wanda Wilson and Charlotte Elliot; and her half-sister Sandy Pitman. She is also survived by two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
