He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett VanHook and Milda Burdine Vanhook; his son Edward Michael VanHook; and his siblings, Joseph VanHook, Leamon Everett VanHook, Roy VanHook, Dorothy Price and Wanda Holt.
He is survived by: his wife Rubi Eleyda Bernard VanHook; and his grandson Gordon Michael VanHook of Jeffersonville, IN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
