He is survived by: his close friend Judy Spears; his son James Robert Burden; his brothers, Eugene Nicholas of Tennessee and Johnny Nicholas of Tennessee; his sons, Rick and Tim Spears; his grandchildren, Brandi, Amanda Burden, Sara Elizabeth Hendricks, Miranda Jo Spears, Blake Burden and Clara Burden; and his great grandchildren, Stella Hendricks, Preston Swett, Piper Spears and Clara Kay Turner.
