He was predeceased by: his parents, Edsel Whitaker and Delphene Harris Whitaker; and his brother Bobby Whitaker. He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Gadberry Whitaker; and his siblings, Alma Harris (Harold) and Billy Whitaker of Somerset. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mill Springs National Cemetery (9044 KY-80, Nancy, KY 42544).
