He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Lawrence May, Sr. and Estel Mae May (Evans); his stepmother Henrietta Collins May; and his sister Mary "Libby" Bevins Scott. He is survived by: his wife Peggy May of Waynesburg, KY; his son Matt Lawrence May (Tori) of Waynesburg, KY; his grandchildren, Auroria May of Waynesburg, KY, Alex and Zack Adkins of Switzer, WV.; his siblings, Noah May (Debby) of Science Hill, KY, Linda May of Belo, WV, Teresa May of Belo, WV and Sandra Cummins (Rick) of Harroldburg, KY; and his siblings-in-law, Kenny Hensley of Pikeville, KY, Daniel "Big D" Hensley of Thacker, WV, Joyce Patton (John) of North Carolina and Norma Clark of North Matewan, WV.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Cornerstone Church (324 Clifty St, Somerset, KY 42501). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
