He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex "Alec" Barnett and Nellie Mae Jones Barnett; his wife Dorothy Elaine Dykes Barnett; his siblings, Edith Hannah, Betty Inabnitt and Doug Barnett; and his son-in-law Bill Asbery.
He is survived by: his daughters, Judy Asbery and Mary Barnett (Jamie Blackburn); his grandsons, Joseph Asbery, Cyrus Barnett, Evan Blackburn and Kody Blackburn; his great grandchildren, Harley Preston, Joey Preston and Layla Lamb; his daughter Bethany Richardson; his nephew Allen Hannah; and his siblings, Lucy Merrick, Netty Harper, Thelma Jean Randall and Denton Barnett.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
