He was predeceased by: his parents, Alpha Mounce and Nora Hughes Mounce; his children, James Edward Mounce and Sandra Mounce; and his brother William "Billy" Mounce.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Mounce; and his daughters, Peggy Strunk (Luther) of Somerset and Lenora Brumley of Somerset. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
