It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edith Marie Tarter of Somerset, Kentucky, who passed away on May 3, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Fred Tarter; her parents, Homer Cook and Lucille Cook; her siblings, Edna Smiley, Doris Smiley, Edwin Cook, Ernie Cook and Gene Cook; her daughter Joy Compton; her son-in-law Danny Compton; and her great grandchild Luke Tarter.
She is survived by: her children, Jim Tarter (Angela), Bob Tarter (Soussan), Joe Tarter (Patty) and Rebecca Davis (R. B.); and her sister Mary Smith (Don). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
