He is survived by: his wife Roxana Miller Girkey; his children, Candice Faith Girkey and Gerald "Jay" Ray Girkey, Jr.; and his grandson Daniel Raven Girkey (Brandy).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
