He was predeceased by: his mother Verna Mae Godby Bray; his grandparents, James M., Mildred Bray, George and Edna Godby (Angela Walden Bray); and his nephew Shane Walden.

He is survived by: his father James H. Bray (Georgie May); his aunts and uncles, Eddie Godby (Marlene), Franklin Bray (Brenda), Edward Bray (Kathy), Donna Dykes, Vicki Nicholas, Janet Mounce (Thurston), Sandra Bertam (Robert) and Syble Bray; his great-aunt Wilma Phelps; his nieces, Jessica Meece (J. R.), Heather Walden Turpin (Scott) and Beth Swift (Bennie); and his close friend Darlene Koger. He is also survived by her children and grandchildren), and many cousins he held dear, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
