He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Wells and Audrey Wells (Sears); his son John David Wells; his brothers, Kenneth Sears, Charles Wells, Sherman Dean Wells and JD Wells; and his granddaughter Charlotte Wells.
He is survived by: his wife Debra D. Wells (McMullin); his children, Kenneth Wells, Eli Wells, Rosa Wells of Somerset, Kim Wesley of Somerset and Rebecca Burton of Somerset; his sisters, Sheila Powell of Eubank, Katherine Glover of Eubank and Sharon Gilreath of Florida; and his grandchildren, Triston Burton, Austin Chaz, Zack Simpson, Abigail Wesley, Amelia Orto, Richard Price and Max Burton.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made to the John Daniel Wells Memorial Fund.
