With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Juanita Garner (Somerset, Kentucky), born in Whittemore, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 21, 2025 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Amelia "Mollie" Behrends and James "Jim" Kelso; and her siblings, Jim Kelso, Catherine Ohland, Mary Hughes and Maurice Kelso.
She is survived by: her husband Dr. George L. Garner; her children, Mike Garner (Norma), Laura Wright (Richard) and Molly Mounce (David); her grandchildren, Jenny Duell (Brent), Missy Johnson (Jeremy), Jessica Jones (Jordan), Christin Velez and Garner Mounce; and her great grandchildren, Brooke Duell, Travis Duell, Emma Ashlock, Hailey Johnson, Hudson Jones and Nora Smith.
Viewing was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Main Chapel (165 KY-2227, Somerset, KY 42503). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
