She was predeceased by: her parents, William Davis and Artie Griffith Davis; her husband Lee Southerland; her former husband Robert Thomas "Bob Tom" Cox; her sons, Robert Thomas "Tommy" Cox and Lester Dale Cox; her daughter-in-law Dianne Hyden Cox; and her siblings, Arvel Davis, Polly Flowers, Grace Decker, Margaret Morrow, Pearl Gibson, Robert Davis and Ariel Davis.
She is survived by: her children, Annie Sims, Al Cox (Stephanie) and Paula Hargis (Jerry); her daughters-in-law, Marilyn Branscum Cox Elam and Cheryl Perkins Cox Flynn; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Omar Meer), Damon Cox, Jordan Cox, Christy, Jamie Cox, Dustin Hargis, Michael Hargis (Chris), John Hargis (Ivy), Raeann (Cody Bates), Brandie (Justin Adkins) and Angie (Russell Creech); her stepsons, Gary Sims (Tracy) and Jeff Sims (Dianna); her great grandchildren, Ian Shepard, Marshall Deen Meer, Noelle Meer, Jazmyne Cox, Aria Cox, Rhegan Iskerka, Grayson Cox, J. D. Hargis, Austin Mullins, Jeremiah Calder, Jayden Akin, Dominic Emerson, Jared Emerson, Autumn Ridner, Summer Coleman, Anthony Sims, Eddy Sims, Russell Brasfield and Jordan Sims; her son-in-law Charlie Sims; and her sister-in-law Brenda Sims. She is also survived by other relatives, church family and friends.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or the Beacon Hill Baptist Church Building Fund.
