He was predeceased by: his parent Othnel Meece; his wife Kay Watson Meece; his son Shannon Lee Meece; his parent Armelda Dykes Meece; his in-laws, Edward and Lois Meece; and his siblings, Ivan Lee and Janice Dean.

He is survived by: his children, Camie Meece (Michael), Wayne Meece (Poppy) and Angela Chaney (Dale); his grandchildren, Jason Meece, Kari Taylor (Jessie), Cassie Dalton (Harley), Bailey Dunham (Kevin), Alesha York (Tristen), Matthew Meece (Kortney), Adriana Meece, Adessa Meece, Rique Meece, Kaylyn Chaney (Tyler Roberts), Curtiss Chaney, Jesse Meece and Melissa Bacon (Brett); and his sisters, Judy Mounce (Jackie), Rosetta Miller and Melissa Richardson. He is also survived by several brother in laws and sister in laws.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home (1046 KY-80, Somerset, KY 42503). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home (1046 KY-80, Somerset, KY 42503).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or The Michael J. Fox Foundation.
