He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Paul and Laura Ann Rowe Coomer of Adair County; and his siblings, James Leslie, J. C. Coomer, Lena Bryant, Lula Purvis, Irene Warner, Lou Annie Estes, Jean Grant, Victoria Coomer and Haddie Marie Montfort.

He is survived by: his wife Lillian Kay Knight; his daughter Paula Michelle Phelps (Gary); his grandchildren, Madison Dawn Wesley (Noah) and Payton Conner Phelps; and his siblings, Russell Coomer (Beverly) of Louisville, Peggy Freeman (James) of Campbellsville and Mildred Coomer of Glasgow.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or the Somerset Pulaski County Rescue Squad.
